Normalize CSS

Feb 29, 2020 • ☕️ 3 min read

Older browsers need a lot of normalization help. Newer browsers don’t need as many CSS Normalization styles, yet styles added to insure that styles are the same across browsers. When custom styles are added, they will quickly over-ride normalized styles.

Normalize.css makes browsers render all elements more consistently and in line with modern standards. It precisely targets only the styles that need normalizing.

/*! github.com/necolas/normalize.css */

- Preserves useful defaults, unlike many CSS resets.
- Normalizes styles for a wide range of elements.
- Corrects bugs and common browser inconsistencies.
- Improves usability with subtle modifications.
- Explains what code does using detailed comments.

It is a modern, HTML5-ready alternative to CSS resets, used by Twitter, TweetDeck, GitHub, Guardian, Medium, GOV.UK, Bootstrap, HTML5 Boilerplate, and many others.
